I try not to mention my kids while geting my haircut because I just don't feel like having that conversation with the girl cutting my hair. I don't know why it bothers me. I really don't mind getting a hairdresser who doesn't talk at all. I only get my hair cut 2-3 times a year, I like to relax while it's happening.

same here. i get my hair cut once every 3 years & the size of the tip is inversely proportionate to the amount of small talk she makes me engage in. this last time i think she said maybe 10 words & they were all related to the haircut. i tipped 200%. silence is golden.
