I'm sleepy.  At first I COULDN'T sleep.  Now I find that I can, I just don't WANT to.  I have my issues, I know I know.  *yawn*

I talked to the apartment managers yet again today.  I'm trying to get it through their head that if they want me to pay rent they had better tell me how much it is!  Finally I got through to someone that knows what is ( Read more... )

Okay, I did read all of this and I will be commenting later today but I am running late...

I just had to comment and ask about your missing rib??!?!?!?! You poor thing...I'll lend you one of mine if you need it...might need to chop it up a bit to make it fit in your tiny body!!!

What kind of surgery did you have when you had your accident? How big is your scar? I'm just assuming they were trying to fix your spine.

More comments to come.

I had two different surgeries at once. The first surgeon went in on my left side. He cut from my back down around my rib cage. He had to remove all the bone fragments (from where it exploded in the fall) and move my organs outta the way. They also had to deflate my lung and I had a horrible tube in my side afterwards so the lung could inflate and drain. Taking it out was nasty and very uncomfortable! Anyway, he took the lowest rib, grinded (ground?) it all up and put it in a "cage" that they later put at the base of my spine. After he finished that first part they STAPLED (ouch!) it back together and flipped me over. The main surgeon the cut down the middle of my back (but only from like, midway to the top of my butt) and he put in the cage, screws, whatever all that stuff is. The ribs and fragments are supposed to fuse with the other bones and completely heal ( ... )

USE THE MEDERMA AND VITAMIN E!!! Put it next to whatever is the first thing you see in the morning....toothbrush....vitamins...other pills! USE IT!

I can't think a heating pad would hurt it at all...I would say the tanning bed wouldn't *hurt* it, but I do think it'll make it more visible...but unless you're planning on streaking right now, I don't see that being a problem (I won't go into how bad tanning is for you because I do it from time to time too).

DAMN! I thought my 16 staples on my foot were bad....I didn't know I had staples until they started cutting off my dressings and said what they were going to do. (Me: "You're going to take what out??") Ryan calls it my Frankenstein scar.

Scars tissue is unable to tan, so it will definitely highlight any scars. Remember when I laid down on the iron in your room freshman year? Yeah, I have a big white spot on my back whenever I (used to) go tanning. Not that I can tan much even when I try. But yeah, tanning is bad for you. Sunless tanners will color your scar, however ( ... )
