We are such sisters. I didn't file taxes for 4 years after my fucker of an ex screwed me on the deductions for the kids. But in order for said children to go to college I had to file the FAFSA form. Which means I HAD to file my taxes. Oy.
It all worked out in the end. Now the IRS and NYS aren't mad at me anymore, the kids got their financial aid and I even got money back when all was said and done.
I just got off the phone from a lecture on tax filing from a very nice lady named Mr.s WHite in Washington, DC. She read me the riot act on how I'm wasting money by not filing.
Yeah, the IRS folks I talked to were really nice too. And very sympathetic about my paranoid fears, endless procrastination and terror about being carted off to jail and never being able to send the kids to college.
I SOO suck when it comes to anything related to official paperwork, forms, finances... all that shit. I stink. And I am trying desperately NOT to pass this particular trait on to my children. Ugh.
God, I almost forgot. Go back a couple of entries on here and read about the pie someone was giving away on Craigslist. You will be horrified, since you are the pie queen.
