I'm torn. I don't mind him a little happy sometimes. I mean, I always loved it when he joked around or pranked on Wilson. Hell, I LOVE the scenes where he's laughing with Wilson. I even like the scenes where he's laughing with Cuddy, but I don't understand why in order for him to be happy, some completely unrealistic things have to happy. Sure, people with chronic pain tend to be a lot less happy than the average bear, but that doesn't mean they never crack a smile. Realism is often too much for television though.
