Today we went to Coney Island (about 1 1/2 hours on the subway). I wasn't sure I wanted to go. Heat affects me badly. And I was in a foul mood. Visiting Mom is a real chore. I made some blueberry muffins and Jeff took them to her. When we visited on Friday she went on at length about how terrible (her word) my muffins were. And that she was going

The trip sounds really nice. I'm glad you were able to get some cheer from it after the stuff with your mother. That must have hurt to hear from her that she thought your muffins didn't taste good. You were bringing them as a kindness for goodness sake. It seems to me that you were just trying to express that pain in your comment about your mom and people just took it too literally. I'm sorry *hugs* Now I feel like making some blueberry muffins too XD

They were really good. Then I made banana bread. It was delicious. But obviously I didn't bring any over.

I grew up in Brooklyn, so your trip to Coney Island brings back good memories. We loved going to Nathan's, and enjoyed Brighton Beach. I'm glad you had a good time there. :D

I love my blueberry troll, lol! You're very welcome! I grew up in the Midwood area of Brooklyn, near Ave J. Oh, you live on the Upper West Side! I moved to Manhattan when I was 19, and lived in the West Village for awhile, then the Upper West Side at West End Ave. I live in Seattle now.

Yaay! It's always great when you don't feel like going out and then have a good time, Coney Island sounds like fun, I'd love to go on that Big Wheel! Thank you, sweetie! Jeff stuck up for me, and then didn't remember he had, because he was so shocked. I wrote to my sister privately and kind of expected her to laugh at me about the muffins, but she was horrified.

Sorry that things are still difficult with your Mum, but it looks like your Day at Coney Island was a welcome relief. I've heard of Coney Island, but that's the first time I've seen it. It looks like lots of fun, and lots of atmosphere! :)
