Ha. I think I watched this on a plane (I certainly didn't pay for it, but I probably would have, had it come out in cinemas here) and yeah, it was pretty dire. Mainly I was keen to see James McAvoy (with bonus Mark Gatiss et al), but not even he/they could save it. Oh, dear. That said, it was fine fodder for a plane ride - like, I'm not sure I caught every *cough* nuance, but I don't think it mattered XD

I've never noticed James McAvoy before. I should check out imdb.com to see what he's done.

Glad I didn't see it! I saw the Nick Dear play Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller. It was great but I would dearly like to ask Nick Dear "so why, when you read the novel, did you think this classic of English literature needs a rape scene?"

If you can see it free, I recommend it. Online, preferably, so you can pause it and do other stuff.
