Twitter Is Definitely Not Good For Me :{

Feb 04, 2015 20:20

Whenever someone asks me if they should get on Twitter, I always say, "don't".  Like Facebook used to be, Twitter is a massive timesuck in which you have "convos" with dozens of imaginary friends.  It used to be that I did roughly ten minutes in the morning, ten minutes at night, maybe a little bit during the day.  But now I'm hanging around like ( Read more... )

*hugs* sometimes the hell of social media is that the collective hive mind can see nothing but negatives, however if you want to minimise your time having things ruined, then remove the people who were shitty about the episode.

Too many people I enjoy. There are a few people I unfollowed for that reason, and a few I muted because they wouldn't stop bitching abt. their personal causes and then setting up gofundme accounts.

The internet itself is an enormous time sink. I am plenty addicted to the internet but I have managed to avoid becoming addicted to Twitter (and its cousin Tumblr) by being totally unable to understand how it works!

2200 followers though - wow, I can see the appeal of that...

Here's a question: Is Twitter more important than your mental health?

I was on Twitter for about 5 years before I got really into it. I think the addiction is that there are people there 24 hours a day who want to talk about what you are into it at that moment.
I found Twitter kind of boring and then I found a group of people who want to talk about House or RSL as much as I do and it becomes like this black hole of fandom where you can't escape! Just as one person goes to bed, someone from another part of the world wakes up and it continues.

You make a funny joke or observation and post it on Twitter, there is always someone awake and ready to respond. It's instant gratification!

As you can see... I am addicted to Twitter also. O_O
