I enjoyed this episode. I don't really think House convinced POTW to sign the doc; it's what the guy wanted regardless of what his daughter and House said. I really think that sometimes people tend to dwell on character quirks of House's that have always been there. He is who he is and has always been that way; don't think he was any worse in this ep than in others from past 7 yrs and he DID use the money he made to put to a good use...ie: his department.
I also don't believe House has to buy Wilson's friendship. It's always been a give and take with them and they both have done good and bad to each other. (but that's a discussion for a different time)
The only thing I would say critical about this ep is that they need to concentrate more on House and his story than that of Adams and Park. Oh, and I loved the ending, so I guess we'll all have to agree to disagree on this one :)
I missed the episode--a friend called right before it aired and by the time we got off the phone I'd missed half of it. I'll be back to read your review once I've seen it.
The $5000 was money he stole from Wilson - he was just returning it.
Crimes committed by House in this episode
- Insider trading (twice) - Blackmail of patient for money - Theft of $5000 from Wilson - Theft of a $200,000 piece of medical equipment (he pawned it somewhere presumably? must be a great pawn shop!) - Assault on ortho guy (shining a light in his eyes designed to make him ill), near assault on ortho guy (only saved by having an epiphany at the last moment)

Pretty good record for a guy on parole....

I haven't published some of the comments, they come under the heading of "personal attacks." I usually publish every one out of three.
