I will really miss Lisa Cuddy and Lisa Edelstein. But I won't miss how badly the show botched House/Cuddy. As well as what an all-around angstfest the first half of the season would have to be if she was still there. The worst part about it is not the actual storyline, but the writers would have made a hash of that, I can promise you.

You nailed it. That's exactly how I feel. I will really miss Cuddy (and by extension LE) but had she stayed it would have been a long ongoing arc of contention that would have dominated the season. Now they can turn all that attention to Willllsssuuuuuunnnn (as you so aptly put it). :)

I am pleased to see people writing again too and the community is definitely becoming more alive now.

Well, you already quoted the part I was fixing to quote, because yes, exactly this. I will miss Cuddy, but there really wasn't any way that they'd have un-mangled her character had she stayed. The only way she could have regained the respect of anyone around her (let alone the viewers) would have been to fire House permanently, and we knew that wasn't going to happen. So she'd have had to have caved in again in one way or another, and there'd have been yet more twisting and mangling, and UGH.

So I'm going to miss her, and at the same time I think Lisa Edelstein did the right thing, the only sensible thing she could have done, and saved us all from what would have been a protracted mess of an arc.

There's an interesting energy happening right now and I hope it keeps up. I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow night, where this time last week I was mostly dreading it.

I'm fairly certain she saw it that way too, and look how much fun she's having on The Good Wife! I hope she keeps working a lot.

Who says I'm changing my icons? People still use Jeeves and Wooster, etc. and old Doctor Who (although I don't watch it so I don't know how current they are.)

I wish like hell they had kept Cuddy the way she was in seasons 1-3 but there's nothing that can be done about it.

Yes, up until S5 or so she was so kick-ass. At one point he's going on about what a lousy administrator, doctor, etc. she is, and she fans herself and asks coquettishly, "Am I blushing?"

That's my favorite Cuddy moment ever.

Then she changed in late S4 or S5 and it was all dreadful from there.
