Is Anyone Else Simultaneously Dreading/Looking Forward To Tomorrow's Episode?

Apr 10, 2011 17:53

The title pretty much sums up how I feel, which is how I'm feeling before most of the shows.  I caught up with the last one, and switched it off mid-way, then went back for the ending.  I've enjoyed several episodes a lot, but the show seems so...derailed.

hugh laurie, david shore, discussion, this thing better be fixed, house md

Lately that is how I approach EVERY House episode! The show has gotten so odd.

Before I sit down to watch I always wonder will I hate the episode, love it, or not care at all? Will there be any Wilson in it? Will Cuddy be in character or out of character? Will someone be dancing up a staircase in a top hat, or throwing themselves off a balcony? Etc.....

I know exactly what you mean. The show is starting to reek of desperation.

I admit I enjoy fanfics more than much of season 7. But I always watch for Hugh. At least Huddy is over. I hope they get to some old-fashioned sparring soon. And some old-fashioned h/w friendly banter.

From your lips to TPTB's ear.

Season 7 has been like a bad dream for mean. For the most part I haven't been thrilled with it and when it's over and I wake up, I find myself in a funk for the next two days.

I watch for the House-Wilson interaction. An episode without this really doesn't interest me all that much, to be honest. I usually still watch so I stay up to date on what's going on but that's all.

That being said, I am a little anxious to find out what plot device TPTB pulled out of their anuses to explain Thirteen's absence. Actually, for the most part I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic for this week's ep. Any week that doesn't have Cuddy OOC in it has at least one thing going for it.

Wouldn't be the grossest thing to come out of a clinic patient's orifice. Come to think of it, things are always gushing out of PoTW's orifices. So there's precedent...

Tuning into House this season has felt like plodding through a distasteful chore... like getting down on hands and knees and scrubbing the bathroom floor kind of unpleasant. There were far more bad moments than good. If it wasn't for fandom friends and reading fanfiction, I'd be gone. I'm going to read episode discussions first, and then decide whether to watch.

That is an excellent description. I've had more fun emptying the dishwasher. At least that doesn't leave me puzzled and pissed off.

Also, I know I may have been reading a little too much fanfic when the phrase "getting down on hands and knees" conjures a PWP mental image. Preferably h/w. After reading all those h/w stories, straight porn in a House fic is just weird. Haha.

P.S. I'm fanfic *dependent*, not addicted. You wouldn't take insulin away from a diabetic, would you?

Awesome. Count me in. I'm now working my way backwards through both ff and several lj's to feed my addiction dependence.

I have an ongoing commitment on Monday nights, so no I won't watch.

If I hear it was worth it, I'll watch it later on hulu. This whole season has felt unreal. IMO they broke the characters in season 6, and the shows been in a nosedive ever since. I hold out some hope that Shore will get it back on track, though.

I couldn't agree more about Season 6.
