I got an email from Washington State, first off, I was surprised they were even hiring, but they wanted a resume, a state application, references, and a copy of my degrees(which they called diploma?) So I send it all, and they say, we still need a copy of your degree. I thought I had sent it

I had to do this once, and I thought it was strange as hell. It would be a lot easier to forge a photocopy of a degree certificate than to forge a transcript.

I agree. I won't regail the entire story, but lets say that once I lived in a previous state that required like 8 different addressed documents to get a photo drivers license. I only had about 5.. so i photoshoped the rest.

I still got my drivers license.

Yeah.. way to go anti-terrorism measures. More trouble than it's worth.

Twenty years ago I might have understood this. It would have been much harder to forge then. But today? I could make one with Photoshop in no time. And I would need to do so if asked, since it's been over twenty years and mine is long lost. (Go UWGB!)

My current job asked me for mine. I am in Alaska...my mom is in Pennsylvania...just how would you like me to materialize that one? I have not seen my Degree in over 10 years!! And now they want me to produce it as proof that I got my degree. 3 years after hiring me???? Luckily they settled for an official transcript. (it's been over 20 years for me...)

Sorry, I don't keep that document anywhere around me.
