*Why did the Jedi believe they would have to protect the Republic in a military action, if the Separatists broke away? It seems as if the Republic and the Jedi were prepared to consider using military force to draw the Separatists back into the Republic, against their will.
Makes me think of Lincoln and the whole Union-Confederacy thing during the Civil War. The Union did not want to let the South go. I think this is sort of like that.

*Why was it so important to Obi-Wan that he and Anakin follow the Council’s instructions regarding Padme, to the letter?
Because that’s Obi-Wan. He’s a rule follower. What the Council says, he does. And EXACTLY when the Council says. One of the points of friction between him and Anakin is that Anakin feels Obi-Wan is too literal about the rules, while Obi-Wan feels that Anakin is too…disrespectful of them.

*The more I look at Anakin and Obi-Wan’s interactions in AOTC, the more I realize how unsuited they were for a master/padawan relationship. Anakin would have been better off being trained by ( ... )

The Tuskan raiders seem only half-sentient. They resemble animals more than humans in their behavior (relating them to Earth terms.) The way they treated Anakin’s mother - and probably did others - resembles to me animals dragging their prey away to be stored and then eaten when the time comes.

But . . . humans are animals. And in the STAR WARS saga, not all of the characters are humans - including high-ranking characters such as Yoda, Ki-Adi Mundi and Admiral Ackbar.

I meant in Earth terms. We don't have sentient beings that are non-human on earth. Obviously species like Yoda's and Mundi's would be equivalent to humans. I mean, look, if a pack of wolves raided a village and chewed to death some of its occupants, most people would not take issue with the victims relatives going out and destroying said pack. I don't think Lars' words are Xenophobic, I think they are the words that anyone would use to describe a pack of vicious animals.
