Love this adaptation. As you say, it's a great cast!

Think your review was fair but I was surprised to see you describe yourself as less supportive of the SP's efforts than you used to be. I'm sure to be a LOT OLDER than you so I don't think that's necessarily the reason. Yes of course Baroness Orczy's own attitudes do come through in her writing - plus attitudes generally have changed very much since her day - but I have been re-re-re-reading some of my favourite SP novels recently, and she does allow the Pimpernel to rescue "ordinary" people as well as aristocrats! But I think also that if you love the Scarlet Pimpernel for the "six foot odd of gorgeousness" that he is, you have to forgive him anything anyway!
