Any chance you could try a non-Method approach? Maybe focusing on projecting 'love' rather than trying to tap into it would be helpful for a little while? When in doubt, I say work the verse. See, Shakespeare's brilliant like that. Just speak the verse right and it'll do a lot of the acting for you. But then, I can't act my way out of a paper bag, so maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about. :)

I will try a non-Method approach tomorrow and see how it works for me. It makes me nervous, just because I've always leaned more towards method, and it's served me pretty well up until this show. Shakespeare has me intimidated, I will totally admit. I fell in love with R&J when I was only about seven and I saw it on Wishbone (man that dog was a good actor!). I memorized the balcony soliloquy immediately after that. So this feels like a hugely important undertaking for me and I'm psyching myself out about it just a little bit.
