This story has so much bittersweet to it. The loss of Reid is still powerfully painful, but as Ash Luke has found a way to find happiness with his new family. I wonder if Ash will be able to see the neuro wing? I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Thanks. It's been rather cathartic to be able to write this.

I'm sad, though, that Luke/Ash still can't have his own romantic happiness with another person but at least he still has his family-both of them, in this case.

Very nice scene with Anita and Ash, btw.

Personally, I tend to think that people grieve in their own time, and they don't really move on until they've come to terms with that grief. I see this whole journey as a way to reconcile the man he's become with the man he used to be.

As for Anita, I can imagine a "know-it-all" young doctor, who's focused and to some degree always right doing that very thing. I like the idea that someone else in the world knew him in a unique way, and could maybe understand that aspect of his life that is so important.

I am sitting on the edge of my seat to see the ending of this story with so much underlying emotion in it's characters. Wondering if they will all get their happy ending. I hope so. Great writing by the way.

Thank you. I'm not sure what kind of ending I would classify what I intend to write. I'm aiming for fulfilled.

He was a little disappointed, though, as one little dream slipped away. He'd always sorta hoped Ash and his mom would get married some day.

Oh Jason. I love that kid. I imagine this is what every kid in this situation would feel like. And hell, if Ash was straight I'd be rooting for him and Lanie to get together. I loved that Jason said that Ash was his best friend. And I would imagine as a father as well, especially because he had a hope for his mom and Ash to get married. And Ash calling Jason his kid. <3 Too true. Have I said I love their family once or twice before? Because I love their family. :)

"I'm happy for you, Aaron," he murmured, and found he really was.He maybe have changed in so many ways, but underneath Luke is still there, even if only a little. Maybe, just maybe, he's finally healing from the loss of Reid ( ... )

I actually just got done writing the last three chapters of the story and an epi today. I'm really hoping people like how I've taken it.

With luck I'll be able to post a chapter tonight (although it may be tomorrow depending on RL stuff). I'm still editing the chapters or I'd post them all now. :)

Thank you so much for all the comments you've given me. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. I can tell you right now that to some degree I don't want this to end either. Unfortunately, if I want to work on any other projects, it has to. :)

I loved the scene with Ash and Jason. It's not hard to imagine Jason wanting Ash and Lanie to get together.

I am enjoying the emotional journey that Luke/Ash is on.

I'm very curious to see how you end this.

Great job as always!
