"Reid was a complete prick, with the social skills of a cadaver," Ash softly replied, and that apt description conveyed more love than any other Lanie had heard before.

Thanks. I like that description of him. That's how I described him to someone who asked me about the character. It just seems so Reid-ish. lol

So glad you updated. I'm glad Luke has made more contact with his family. But him seeing Reid's picture was sad. But he'll be okay. Oh, and anytime Reid is described as being a "good man" warms my heart because he truly was.

Lovely!

Thank you. Reid might've been able to talk a good game, but for someone who didn't want anything to do with anyone in Oakdale, he certainly managed to slide right into some awesome relationships - especially Katie and Luke. He really is more bark than bite. lol

Thank you. I'm sorry about the delay. Worst case of writer's block I've had in a year. I'm glad I'm back on track, though.

I'm so glad you're back...I was worried there for a bit.

This was a great update, but I did shed a tear for what once was.

Thanks. I think the holidays and the mass amounts of visiting family helped to overwhelm me on top of it all. It's bothered me that I didn't get as much written as I wanted to. I'm glad I have a good idea where this is going now.

Although there is so much I'm waiting to experience with this version of Luke; so much healing that needs to happen , a part of me is hoping that some of where you're heading has Ash/Luke finding a romantic love again...he deserves to have that in his life. But I'm still so stuck on LuRe that I think it might slay me. I know that this is not a "fix-it fic", but a pathetic part of me still looks for Reid around every corner. He's a hard man to get over. Sheesh.

They hugged tight, buried their faces against his neck, and sniffled their welcome. No recriminations. No regrets.

I got teary-eyed at this. I wonder just how much Natalie and Ethan would know, particularly Ethan since he was a child at the time. But them just hugging Ash and not being mad, not having a grudge about him or him leaving. I don't know. Made me emotional.

That description of Reid Ash told Lanie was perfect.

I missed this story. So so sooo glad you updated. :)

Kids adapt amazingly well. Yes, they see a lot more (and understand a lot more) than adults tend to give them credit for, but they also rally better. They just see their older brother - scars and all - and are happy to see him there. Because kids also understand the tangible. So, while they may have a reaction eventually, I can see them openly accepting him back in their lives.

I'm glad to be back writing. It's been a weird couple of months for me. I'm just glad my muse is back. :)
