Well, I wrote the previous post about a week ago, and only just got it posted. I really should have read through it before posting, because I have something else to say.

You may never actually get to hear my (admittedly awful) podfic, since due to throat damage whilst in anaphylaxis, I may never regain proper speech. Yay. Even a whisper hurts

Thank you so much. I know there are all sorts of support groups and stuff, but like you said. Shock to the system. I didn't really process anything for a few hours, and then it hit me, and then I spent most of a day in tears.
I do already know the basics of sign language, so it shouldn't be too hard to pick up.
And "Never loose hope. Never give up. There is always a way." that is one of the best things you can say to anybody, no matter what their situation.

Cripes, that's utterly crappy. Have you got all the appropriate people to let you know of the tech that's available that can help you communicate with people who 8don't* know BSL? I really hope that you're doing the best possible, given crappy circumstances.
