 Hey guys, I've got a grammer question.  It's a pretty basic question (my English teachers would be so proud). I have this sentence and I'm not sure if it should have quotation marks in it. Here's the sentence:

Something along the lines of I told you so or why didn’t you come back then came to mind.

I think it depends on the the context of the line. If you're in a conversation with characters, I'd use quotation marks. However if it's a flashback or thought, I'd consider italics. Hope it helps!

I vote for the quotes. Italics are usually for citing a published source like a book or newspaper title.
