Autumn Memories
An orange leaf fell to the ground. Susans tear followed it, downwards. Falling until it hit the ground. The only difference between them was the splash the tear caused. The leaf just fell, without a single sound. Just as silent as her breaking heart.
A dark red leaf fell to the ground. Susan squeezed her eyes shut and tried not to think about what had happened. Feelings of anxiety were tearing her soul apart. She needed to breath freely, see him again. But that would never happen.
A yellow leaf fell to the ground. Susan buried her head in her arms and wished they were his, holding her. She needed someone to tell her this was a dream. A nightmare with an end in sight, coming nearer. But there was no one, and Susan was all alone.
Drops began to fall from the sky, but Susan didn’t move. She didn’t run inside, not to the warmth of a fire or the happiness of people around her. Time to think was all she needed. Think about him, about all the sweet memories. As her skirt began to stick to her legs, all wet, and her arms were soaked, she looked up. A tear rolled from her eyes, mixed on her cheek with a raindrop and streamed down, towards her chin. It fell down, to the cold grass. It had no future: it was doomed to splash and break into a million pieces. And so, so did her heart.
