The passengers all look put out at the prospect of actually having to communicate with the other passengers.

Yeah, as an Englishwoman, I thought this was just a bit too domestic. I know they all have British accents but that doesn't mean they all have to have the fear of interaction that is our stereotype: it's not even endemic all over the British isles. I think it might have been a nod to the Underground syndrome of not looking or talking to other people, but it felt like RTD missed a trick here.

“Molto bene.” “Don’t, don’t do that, don’t.” It used to be a light-hearted running joke (seen in Tooth and Claw, Shakespeare Code and Unicorn and the Wasp) Now it’s become painful for the Doctor, and that, in itself, is genius. And I don’t normally say that about RTD’s writing.

YES! So glad that someone else noticed this! :D

Yes, I certainly felt RTD was trying to make a point, but I suppose, once they got into it they were all happy to share.

It was very clever the way he did that, I'd imagine it would be painful for the Doctor hearing people repeating him or saying what he says after what happenened. I applaud RTD for his ingenuity. :)

I thought this was definitely one of the better RTD-penned scripts (which, unfortunately, I think tend to be among the weakest of each series). It had its flaws, but it was certainly an enjoyable way to spend 45 minutes.

I particularly liked the way they did the "echoing", and the transition from speaking after each person, to speaking with each person, to speaking only with the Doctor, to speaking before the Doctor. I thought that was very effective, as was the Doctor's fear (even when he was effectively paralysed and you could only real see it in his eyes).

By the way, as far as the shouting goes, I'm not usually a fan of all of the shouty bits, but I got the feeling in this particular episode that most of that was due to the influence of the "monster", so it didn't really bother me that much (once I actually realised how much they were being influenced).

Completely agree, i think if you go into it, all episodes have there flaws, some more than others, but I think this one had more good points than bad points.

I think that bit was very effective and Tennant and Sharp were fantastic.

Okay, fair enough, they were being influenced quite a bit, which made them act a bit out of character. I tend to miss little explanations like ( ... )

I thought Tennants and Sharpes acting were superb in this piece especially like you said where he looks so terrified.
Like you I think that Donna is the perfect companion for 10 (whoever follows will have to be pretty good. I hope its a bloke this time we need some variation and hopefully it will lead to less ship wars then if there was another pretty woman on board.)
I thought that this episode was more creepy than Moffet ones even without CGI. Your so right about the mob being more scary than any monster.

With the bug on her back watch Planet of the Spiders (sorry that my feeling on it but I'm probably wrong :))

Good to speak to you again by the way :)
