That art is very fine. It reminds me a little of some of the woodcut illustrations in a book of fairy tales I had as a child. The book lived under the bed because I was afraid of it, but I could never actually get rid of it because I knew I had to read those stories periodically.

Also, hooray for your starred review.

Grant Jeffery is AMAZING! He had the woodcut idea, which originally was in black and white. When we talked about the rough drafts, I mentioned I'd like a splash of red in them here and there, and then there NEW DRAFTS were these and even MORE incredible!

I love the idea of a book having its place. And its place was under your bed.

Such power the written word -- and its illustrations -- have over us.

Unknown to you fan delurking. Aside from looking eagerly forward to the book (I am restraining myself from squeeing madly), thank you for reminding that I really need to register for Readercon. May I ask if you (or BACT in any combination) will be performing this year? They don't have the Miscellany listed under special events, so I'm not sure if they are doing it again this year.

HALLO!

I am sorry it took so long to reply; my email ATE ALL OF LJ'S COMMENTS and put them in my JUNK MAIL!!! The IMPUDENCE!

A.) The Miscellany is TOTALLY HAPPENING
B.) While BACT is not performing as a group THIS year, it's likely most of us will have a role in the Miscellany
C.) I ALSO GET A BRIMSTONE RHINE CONCERT SLOT. I mean, it'll probably just be me and a CD player, but COOL, RIGHT???
D.) OH YES DO COME TO READERCON!!! Register Register Register!

The CD art is really fabulous. How did you find this person? And did you describe what you wanted, or did you describe the albums' concepts and he came up with this, or... ? (It's really, really excellent art)

I am very much looking forward to getting your book and Nicole's at Readercon!

Bravo on the cover art and the progress on recording. Not to be a noodge (as I am), but don't rush it! I am certain that your fan base of funders can wait another month or two so you don't have to feel like you're up against a deadline.

And as for a site close to home, remember my contact with that church where we borrowed the chairs. . .especially in the summer, when they might not be using all the facilities.

THANK YOU! I will consult you, O Great One!

We're pretty close to wrapping up the first EP, though the second one might run into a few more snags than originally anticipated. I am working on it!

DEAREST ONE!

Oh, first, I just want to FLOOMPH WHOOSH SQUEEEEEZE YOU!

Hallo! HAPPY SUMMER, QUEEN OF THE GREEN!

Okay. Yes. Better now.

Okay, so, yeah, so, GRANT JEFFERY is a friend and colleague and collaborator of MAGILL FOOTE'S (Caitlyn's partner), and the two of them together were the MAGICIAN WIZARDS who did the Martyr's Gem YouTube thing and also the Miscellaneous Stones trailer. And I knew that he could do ANYTHING (very much like Bek) so when I raised money for the project, I approached HIM FIRST!!!

I came up with the concept for the 2 EPs--I knew what I wanted for the images, and how I wanted them to come together for the full CD. But he... HE EXECUTED THEM UNBELIEVABLY. As WOODCUTS!

"Woodcuts with teeth," was how he described them, when he was thinking of them.
