How about this prettiness? And the lilacs?

"Lavender's BLUE, dilly-dilly
Lavender's GREEN!
When I am QUEEN, dilly-dilly
You shall be KING!"I was thinking this morning that as soon as I see the rest of the Top Seekrit ToC for SteamPowered II, I should like to write a Popular Steampunk Carol for EACH of them ( Read more... )

I read "CATALPAS" as "CATOBLEPAS".

Shall I pay you in rhyme?

Say one thing about catoblepas
Say "It's into their stew they will steep us!"
Asks the sage septuagenarian:
"Ain't they all vegetarian?"
So they bury us deep for to reap us!

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALE!

And suddenly, finally, after wracking my brains all winter, I have a possibility for as story for Steam Powered. Oh well, here's to volume 3!

I slipped out between deluges with a bunch of very happy sparrows and slipped back in before things flooded again. Now, to work-work, which has finally arrived.

I do believe the antho is to become an annual thing? Don't quote me though! WRITE THAT THANG!

And you know what? STEAMPUNK IS SO IN that even if you write that story NOW, you'll probably find a market for it RIGHT OFF!

I will try! But... pirates! There's more pirates to do first.

In all seriousness, I feel a little bad about my attempts at steampunk, first that I should like it more than I do, and second, that ... ah, I don't know. It's complicated.

I hear you.

PIRATES FIRST!

We should have a long discussion about steampunk some time. I am VERY amorphous about the whole thing. Is that the right word? Do I mean ambiguous? Cartiliginous? Vestigial? Oh, never mind...

It WANTS one. It LONGS for one. It's WAITING for one!

If you don't give it a name, it will CRY! It will kick its feet in the air and DESPAIR! LOUDLY!

P.S.

The harried feeling had NOTHING to do with you! I was EXCESSIVELY happy at your house too! I think it's more to do with staying in one place for a good solid MONTHS AND MONTHS that is doing it. This feeling I've had since late November of a sort of harassed panic is the one that's subsiding. I know, I know, "panic" is too strong a word. Mostly just harassed!

I loved having a whole month with you. That was much more relaxing than the two months preceding it, wherein I loved every place I stayed, but didn't stay any place above 2.5 weeks.

I miss our walks and talks.

WisCon soon.

I emailed you about coffee or dinner.

Also, no worries about the harried panic what nots. I know that you were happy at my joint, but I'm sure it is nice to have a settled in room. Does it have a view?
