I got myself more doujinshi for Christmas! I honestly did not expect to be able to collect so many so fast, but this one seller on Yahoo! Japan Auctions keeps putting up the ones I'm looking for, so...I can't resist. x__x; Well, at least they're reasonably priced.

Tamago no Ousama & Yume no Ato ni
I actually got both OVERCAT doujinshi in a set of four with Kimi no Tonari ni (and amabile, which I now have two copies of). It was pretty cheap and a great deal. :O
Tamago no Ousama is a mid-timeskip story involving eggs and Simon getting drunk one evening.

Yume no Ato ni takes place at various points of the 3rd and 4th arcs, with a flashback to the 2nd arc (and a couple of 4-koma about Simon & Nia being bakappuru while preparing for their wedding).

Overall, both are very cute but not particularly memorable. I'm still glad to have them though. Also, this made me LOL:

Kimi no Tonari ni
Okay, so this turned out to be a retcon of the ending, because the author wanted Simon to be happy. It goes like "Nia didn't really die, Simon just didn't bother to look!" Or something. The whole thing is pretty surreal, complete with random children who look exactly like young Gimmy & Darry and a random flower vendor who looks exactly like Leite. I'm not sure if I like it, but I only got it for the two OVERCAT doujin, so oh well. ^^;

YAAAAAY more Garlock AU from Gura. *___* As I've mentioned before, I adore the way Gura draws and characterizes Garlock Simon. All too often he tends to be drawn as a bishounen or written as a rapist. Gura portrays him as just the right amount of crazy/badass/confident/irritable/bitter/depressed/self-hating/"wow this guy clearly hasn't slept for days" asshole who somehow manages to be cute on top of all that. So yeah, serious fangirling ahead.
First of all, the cover is pretty neat, though it tends to curl up a little when open. It starts out with a few pages of pure crack, involving the crew buying Simon a fantasy RPG to cheer him up. It does NOT work. XD
FFFFFFFFFF first page and I already love it.
So here we have Tsuuma as a badass Warrior Princess of the Beastmen swordfighting with Simon. SO. AWESOME.
Then Viral shows up and he's her bodyguard or something. They make their escape, and that's all we see of them. :(
And this is the point where I realize this doujinshi is not a sequel to Reset like I'd hoped. In Reset, Simon had started a very tenuous relationship with a Nia who tried to kill him (Simon lets her go at the end, she says "I'm going to keep trying to kill you" and he's like "Good, you do that.") Instead, a new Nia is introduced here who for some reason can't speak, can't smile, and barely responds, almost like a doll (maybe she got brain damage from being in the box too long, I dunno). But that's okay, because this was rather sweet too.
Some great banter between Boota and Simon which goes basically like "You're totally in love with her"/"I AM NOT." Simon's irritated expressions are the best. :D
In the next page Boota is like "I think I just heard her outside the door"
Simon: "OH SHI" *jumps to go find her*
Boota: "...Just kidding. Oh there he goes"
By now it's pretty obvious that he is in love with her, no matter how much he thinks it's impossible. Also, adorable sleeping face is adorable.
Simon has a dream, which is a characteristic "oooh there are ~alternate universes~" sequence, then he wakes up and is pissed that he actually fell asleep in front of someone. And then...AWWW.
Stop denying it you loser. ♥
Overall, I am VERY SATISFIED THANK YOU. And I'd love for this AU to be fleshed out more, but looks like Gura's been bit by the Hetalia bug so that's likely never to happen. :(

Kizashin's side involves Chairman Nia trying to be a student for one day to see what it's like. Simon's like "WTF this is weird but she does look cute." Turns out she's just envious because she barely has a childhood due to fighting the Teppelin Foundation, so Simon takes her to the beach to play. :)

Shoujo Jidai
MY FIRST PORNY DOUJINSHI. I said before that I'm very leery about porn, but I decided to take the risk this time because I like Pacco and Mizutama's art. My reasoning was that since their styles are so cutesy, at the very least it probably won't have any of that EXTREME CLOSEUP stuff that I find nasty more than anything. Oh also, it's my first non-drama-CD-based school parody doujinshi.

I really liked this one. It was cute, not too explicit (though still warranting the R-18 label), and had plenty of context (there was even a couple of pages of Kamina & Nia interaction). I kinda wish it was longer actually. ^^;
Mizutama's side...eh. The problem here is that the characters didn't feel like themselves to me. Since it had little context, and being AU + porn, I suppose some OOCness can't be helped. But I just can't enjoy the porn if the characters aren't familiar.
