Hi. I'm not soo good in Japanese, but I think that makes sense.
I think there's no "genki tsu kara" but "genjitsu kara", and then it'd be "Without diverting my eyes from reality". I think it fits.
Then the "kanashii mi kari chikara ni kaete" line. That could be "Kanashimi (h?)ikari", but for me your interpretaion makes more sense. : )
When it comes to the first line, for me it's just something like "oh ami" and then "On this journey without a friend", I bet.
And about "tarinosete" I have no idea at all.
Well, but these are just my thoughts ^,^

Hmm, maybe it could be "kanashimi kari" which would make it mean "borrowing sadness and turning it into strength"?
