I know I don't go into politics much here, but...

If McCain wins now, I might cry.

This quote sums it up pretty well for me:

Yes, it would be great to have a woman in the oval office, or in the VP slot if they are the right woman...a woman who got there with her own drive, grit, determination, intelligence, skill and merits. When you're hand-picked by a man to win votes simply because you are a ( Read more... )

All I know is that OH GOD IF MCCAIN DIES, I DON'T WANT HER AS PRESIDENT. NO WAY. I WOULD TAKE OBAMA OR HILARY OVER HER ANYDAY.

I feel exactly the same way. If McCain wins I'm going to be inconsolable. :(

I do feel kind of insulted that he chose a woman for his VP pick--it's as though he's trying to say, "Hurr hurr, look at how progressive I am for choosing a woman! :D" But it's all obviously just a gimmick, especially because the woman in question is anything BUT progressive.

Hmm. The notion that the enthusiasm behind Hillary was predominantly "women want a woman in the White House" and had little or nothing to do with what she stood for is insulting in and of itself; simultaneously, I'm wary of criticism of McCain's VP pick solely based on her gender and not her (lack of) qualifications. Yes, it's obvious condescension on the GOP's part, putting forth a candidate with less than two years' experience and little more than "yay hunting" and "boo women's choice and LGBT rights" to her name, but let's worry about that, not screech "omg now those silly wimmins are going to vote Republican!!" I'd love to see a fellow woman in the Oval Office, but...please, this is so transparent. Moderate female voters will call bullshit -- what's really insulting is to assume otherwise. After all, McCain's seventy-two years old and not exactly spry; he could be in office until age eighty, or take his leave sooner, if you know what I mean. Which means that Palin could be President. And that's bad ( ... )

Well let's just hope Americans know how to vote this time. Gah!

This is my 3rd election and the candidates I voted for lost in the last two so I am up for the candidate I vote for to win this time. As they say 3rd times the charm.

Well the last two can't count. We all know that Bush cheated.
