Peter sighed deeply, blinking the tears from his eyes as he stared out over New York. It sure was beautiful at night, he noted almost absently as he wiped at his eyes with the back of his hand. He barked out a laugh, loud and cynical as he pushed himself up onto the ledge and spread his arms wide. What a beautiful night to die. He threw his head back and breathed in slowly through his nose as he closed his eyes and took his first tentative step into the nothingness before him.
It was almost like flying. He laughed.
