Remember what happened at the end of Waters of Mars? 'Cos Rusty certainly didn't.

You mean when Ten went went all power mad and insane? Yeah it wasn't carried over very much into the final epsiodes, but maybe it was just to convey a mini mental break in Ten, a moment of blind hysteria brought on by the knowledge of his impending doom and such.

Yeah, it just seems the whole thing fell flat in the end. There was so much more that could have been done with Ten's power madness. If Rusty was going to go there, he should have went all the way, otherwise it's like what's the point of the end of WoM? It didn't really seem to have a purpose.
I think I was just expecting and hoping for something more in Ten's final episodes (especially after the build up from the previous story), and what we got was just a big disappointment.

I agree that more could have been done. I've always liked those flaws in Ten, his self-righteousness and arrogance, I like the 'hero' to have those no-so-pleasant dimensions to him, so I loved the end of The Waters of Mars. But yes it could have been better realised, SO many things about RTD's writing could have really.

One of the many reasons why Rusty fails. :/
