You get points for your gif AND for reading The Hunger Games!!!!!!! Those books are amazing! I just finished them and I'm in love. It was just announced that they're planning to release the movie March 23, 2012 but casting hasn't been done yet. I'm holding out hope that it lives up to the awesomeness of the books. I totally agree with you that they are not YA in the strictest sense. When you finish all the books, I look forward to your review. The ending of Mockingjay is frighteningly perfect in an almost tragic way, imo. I'm not spoiling - it's just the only way I know how to describe the ending of the series. It's incredible. yay!! :D
My best friend (who bought the book for me) and I talked on the phone for about an hour tonight gabbing about the book. She said the last 100 pages of the 3rd book made her sob and she felt like it had eaten a piece of her soul. I'll be honest, that's keeping me from wanting to read the books. I don't like going into something if I know it's going to make me so sad.
She & I were also talking about possible portrayers (we do this with every book we read. lol) And I said, "You know who pops into my mind for Katniss? Kaya Scodelario from Skins" and then tonight I go trolling the internet for casting rumors and guess who gets the best remarks on this article? Kaya Scodelario! I felt so proud of myself for my astute casting ideas. lol

Your friend is completely correct! haha Definitely ate a piece of a my soul :P
I think Kaya and Freddie would be great choices! I just keep thinking "whoever gets these roles, their lives are about to change so much!" and I get really excited for them haha And the movie's being put out by Lionsgate, so I have hope that it'll be as dark and traumatizing as it should be haha I'm 100% behind a British cast. All the good young actors are British haha I read the first two books by Cassandra and I hated the ending of book two - and just could not read book 3. I don't like them at all :/ I didn't realize they were doing a movie of those. I don't understand how all these books get made into a movie but Kristin Cashore's series hasn't been discussed (as far as I know) to be made into a movie D: lmao I have my wish list :P
I don't think Alex has been cast as Jace yet - fandom's been waiting on pins and needles for him to announce it for days, but it looks like he's wavering. I hope he does it, because I think he'd be perfect.
Also, my .02 on Katniss - I can (physically) see Hailee Stanfield (from True Grit) - she's got the face, skin, and hair of an awesome Katniss. No matter what, I'm totally excited to see what they do, because I loved those books. I read the first two last March, and the 3rd one the day it came out. THEY'RE SO GOOD. (BTW, the 3rd one is sad, but not TOO SAD, so don't let it stop you from reading it.)
