LOL I was one of those Sesshoumaru fangirls when I was young, had him as the wallpaper for my PC and everything. Sad times XDDD Baring that obsession the series was 'meh' and I only liked it for the vaguely comedic moments. Never actually shipped anything there though.

Sesshoumaru and Kikyou have been the highlights of the series for me so far. Maybe I should ship them.

You probably never shipped anything because the pairings you can get from it are dull as dirt (IMO). Like, you can tell InuYasha and Kagome are supposed to wind up together, but they're pretty dull. InuYasha used to have a thing for Kikyou, but that's over and all it really does is make Kagome angst a lot. Even Sango and Miroku are dull, and by all rights they should be funny.

* tortures you with a Kagome icon, wheeeeeee*

Welcome back anyway! Kagome is my favorite character in Inuyasha, but OTOH I can see why the Tsundere shtick isn't necessarily for everyone's taste. AND otoh, would people stop bashing the shit of of her and call her "bitch" and "whiny" and "Mary Sue" just because they hate her? x3

O YOU.

I never really got 'bitch' out of her personality, honestly. I think a lot of the bashing she gets is for being in the way of InuYasha/Kikyou, which... uhh... Kagome kind of is Kikyou, so that's kind of dumb. My main problem with her is the same problem I have with pretty much all the characters in the series - they have bland personalities. So it's really not Kagome's fault as much as it's typical of Takahashi's writing.

Sesshoumaru is my favorite and Miroku is my second favorite. I have absolutely no doubt this says terrible things about me as a person.

13-year-old me fangirled Sesshoumaru. Says enough about me to be honest.

He just cracked me up, and then he saved Rin, and their relationship made me laugh like hell even when I was pissed at the rest of the show.

Getting pissed at the rest of the show was easy to do. :

Lol, what do you expect from a Takahashi series? The woman couldn't keep sight of a coherent plot if it was glued to her eyelids.

This said, I actually like Sango, but my god her angsting gets old real quick.

Seriously.

Sango's likable enough, but she also tended to fade into the background in a lot of the later episodes I watched. When she wasn't in the background, she was either being a petulant bitch to Miroku or angsting. I actually prefer to angsting to the episode I saw of her getting nasty and jealous over Miroku's "fiancee".

For all I like about Sango and Miroku, you are right--they suffer as side characters that will always be shoved back in favor of the mains.

Which episode was she getting irritable over a fiancee? It's been so long, and that sounded so much like Ranma 1/2, my memory is fuzzy. XD

Let's see, they were walking around and saved some girl from a river monster that wanted to marry her. Then they told the river monster that Miroku was her fiance, which pissed Sango off. Supposedly he had proposed to him prior to the series and it was never actually established if he did, if the girl was lying, or if her parents were lying. Either way, Sango got so pissed off at him that she refused to come save him when he was in trouble. I think she did wind up saving the day in the end, but... my god, it was so damn stupid. She didn't even bother asking questions about anything, just assumed Miroku was cheating on her and ditched him.
