To laugh or not to laugh...

Last night we took a very quick walk in the cold. Dahlia kept wanting to cross the road and I kept telling her that it was a BAD idea because the road had been pretty clearly heavily salted. But she doesn't seem to listen to me too well (lol) and kept insisting. So I let her cross. The way over was ok because she chose a spot that wasn't too ( Read more... )

Oh jeez!! I'm trying not to giggle. Really.

Can you get her little booties, maybe?

I did get booties! But she really didn't seem to like them much and they're SUCH a pain to put on. Her feet are fine most of the walk but if she crosses a recently salted road it can hurt. I think it just burns a bit and she's a HUGE drama queen about it.

She needs some of these...

But, no, seriously... maybe a pair of Muttluks?

We did get her a pair of basic booties but she was none too fond of them. I haven't wanted to put out the money for them because it seems like it bothers her only occasionally.

I'm thinking that it's time to break out the Bag Balm and see if that makes a difference.

Musher's Secret isn't as greasy as bag balm... In case you're worried about it making a mess.

Nah I'm not worried about it. I found it didn't really make much of a mess and we usually just put it on right before she heads out for a walk.

Definitely laugh. Glad there are people out there who would stop to help if there had been an emergency.

I know! This is the second time I've had someone stop when she's done this and offer help, rides home, whatever. I feel so silly when I have to tell them "no she's fine."

On time someone stopped on a walk on the Erie Canal because she thought something horrible had happened to her. And this was NOT in winter. Dahlia? She just wanted a damned belly rub and I felt SO SILLY explaining to the woman that in the middle of walks my dog will just roll over for a belly rub!

You. Must. Film. This.

Funniest thing ever.

Holly is a big drama queen too. When we lived with my granny she wasn't allowed on the furniture, but after she was neutered she kept getting up on my granny's chair when we were out of the room, then when we got back she'd just roll over and point her stitches and her woeface at us.

Dahlia is the saddest sad dog ever. Some day I WILL get this on film but it usually happens when I'm out on walks in bad weather and without my camera!
