I've been creeping through Babylon 5, of which I'd only seen the first couple of seasons when it originally aired, and last night watched 4x06, "Into the Fire." And, wow, the last fifteen or twenty minutes made me cringe with embarrassment for everyone involved. Please tell me this is not an unusual reaction? Sheridan related things can often cause cringing. I found the key to be focusing on the aliens, they usually had the best plots and actors.

Yeah, the aliens are definitely the best part (and the most well cast) of the show.

It makes me sad, because I liked Sinclair a lot more, and he was originally supposed to be the commander through the whole series. But the actor and JMS apparently had 'discussions', and he ended up leaving.

Sheridan is such a putz. The should have put G'Kar in charge of the Interstellar Alliance, his Narns where providing most of the security for the station within(even if they never had enough dudes in Narn makeup), and he was much defter at both diplomacy and war. But I guess the White Star fleet owing direct allegiance to Delenn, and her being entirely invested in Sheridan was too much of an issue.
