Besides, flattery, although a useful tool in its own right, has never been his tool of choice. ] Perhaps I can make up for the lapse by paying my respects at your residence directly. [The Doctor's deep annoyance is not meant to be aimed Rufus. He isn't going to argue with the necessity of defending one's self when something is going for your throat. It's the fact that there is a necessity for it at all that bothers him.

He's not intentionally killed any being thus far, in this lifetime. It's not a streak the Doctor relishes breaking.]

The gun? Something that followed me from home. It's been surprisingly easy to find ammunition here.

I had it custom made for me a few years ago. My company was somewhat of a specialist in weapon design.
