Summary: Prudence and Sadie are sitting beneath the stars on the rooftop.
I give her all my love
That's all I do
“Sadie,” Prudence whispered, allowing her head to drop onto the woman’s shoulder.
Sadie smiled and wrapped an arm around Prudence’s tiny frame. Whenever Sadie would touch her, Prudence felt a spark. There was this warmth that was hard to describe and it felt like her whole body was on fire, but she didn’t want to put it out. Oh she knew that Sadie would never return the affections that she wanted, but it never hurt to keep trying and it certainly didn’t hurt to keep fantasizing. Prudence was used to nursing a broken heart and it had been shattered many times before so one more broken piece wouldn’t matter.
Prudence savored the alone time she got with Sadie. Sadie was warm, cuddly and friendly and was all too happy to give little Prudence hugs and snuggles. There was something about the petite woman that one couldn’t help but want to love her and squeeze her tight. Sadie allowed her fingers to lightly brush against the soft strands of Prudence’s silky black hair. The texture was so different from her own.
Prudence longed to be brave and brash like Sadie was. If she had just a little more courage than she would press their lips together. She wanted at least one taste of Sexy Sadie. Just one little taste and she could probably get through another day where the longing wasn’t so bad and the pain wouldn’t be so unbearable. Oh, Sexy Sadie, what have you done to me?
“Are you cold, sweet pea?” Sadie asked, glancing down at her when she noticed the young girl pressing their bodies tighter together and letting out a little shiver.
“A little bit. I forgot how cold it can get here at night,” Prudence smiled up at her.
The two were resting on the roof of the building on the old, tattered couch that Prudence had found one day behind the alley. She had somehow sweet talked Max and Jo-Jo into dragging it onto the roof. The night sky was dark with numerous twinkling, silver stars smiling down upon them. The moon was in a weak crescent, ready to turn black with the next nightfall.
Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
will never die
And I love her, ooh
Sadie pulled Prudence closer, leaving her half sitting on her lap. Her arms circled around her and Prudence let her head fall against Sadie’s chest, a curtain of black hair spilling around them. She let out the softest of sighs and her ear found the steady beat of Sadie’s heart. For some reason the steady beat gave Prudence a surge of confidence. Just one kiss, just one kiss would be alright. With a slight lift of her head and a gentle press of her mouth, their lips were together, sharing the softest of kisses. It was everything Prudence had imagined it would be.
Not a word was murmured after the kiss broke. Prudence simply allowed her head to drop back into Sadie’s chest and smiled when the strong arms wrapped around her again. Sexy Sadie the greatest of them all.
