Argh. My cats are continusing to use my house as a litterbox. After having a successful day of no pee or poop in the house, and changing out their litter to their usual brand, we left them out last night. Chaos promptly jumped on the bed and slept on my feet all night. I suspect all night because I woke various times and everytime he was in the same spot on my legs. So I don't think he left all night until early this morning. Maybe he did it this morning. Anyway, Rachael came running upstairs this morning exclaiming "The cats peed and pooped on the floor AGAIN!"
Indeed they had, in the same area. I had even set a chair there to kind of deter them, but it didn't. They also peed on my fucking stovetop again. WTFH?! I am so not sure why they are doing this. I am not 100% sure who it is. They have their old litter, I am using odor eliminator (not just stuff that deoderizes odors), plus, my stovetop! I bleach it down and it's fine, so there is no lingering odor that would coax them back. So I locked them up in the laundry/storage room where their litterbox was for a long time this morning while I thoroughly tidied. Since we got back from vacation my days have focused on getting rid of pee odour, cleaning poop and pee, getting rid of fleas. I unpacked. Finally today the kids and I got all the toys put back in their crrect spots (rather than haphazardly thrown in various bins and corners like they had been). Then I cleaned the bathroom on the living level that the cats had used as a water bowl while we were gone (yes, I left them plenty of water and our neighbour checked and refilled it. No idea why they pee on my stove and drink from my toilets right now). So the bathroom was a haven of cat fur in the corners, flea dirt everywhere and general grossness. Cleaned it, vacuumed downstairs and living level. The only untidy area is upstairs now but I can live with that. Hopefully a neat place will have me better able to emotionally handle pee on my carpets- and get it cleaned without losing my mind. Pee on my stove, however, I am getting some double sided tape to put on the stovetop. I used to use it as a deterrant for jumping on the counters, so hopefully it will stop them from jumping on my oven. If that doesn't work I am turning the damn broiler on permanently and they will burn their little paws if they jump up there again. Chaos would be smart and vindictive enough to pee on my stove, however, he doesn't jump on my counters, table, etc so I have a hard time thinking he would be the one peeing on my stove. Grar.
Oh well. Enough about cat pee. After cleaning this morning, we watched a NOVA program from the library about black holes (Monsters of the milky way, I think it was called). It was amazing. The kids were totally glued and currently Trevor is drawing a picture of huge black hole with people and planets slowly getting stretched and sucked into it. heh.
