Jul 18, 2011 16:04

[Harry Potter is strutting strolling through the village of Luceti, apparently without a care in the world. One might not even guess that just a couple of hours ago, he was held captive by the Malnosso. To come out of something like that, well... one might consider him rather lucky ( Read more... )

You've been gone for such a long time! I'm just glad you're all right.

What's the last thing you remember?

I don't want to fight with him over something like that. He's not a bad person. He just likes to do things like that.

That's probably my fault. I got scared by the idea of letting more people know, because it usually doesn't end well. I didn't mean to make you feel excluded, though.

That's a horrible way to treat someone, especially your partner.

To be honest, I don't know if he cares about that sort of thing. He does what he wants regardless of what anyone says sometimes, so it's something he did on his own. What do you mean by it not ending well, though?

Why?

[He hesitates before writing the rest of the message.]
Most of the time, people I talked with ended up dead.

Draco told me something - about a person who killed a lot of people in your world. He used him as an example of why I should trust him, I think.

I don't really take you for the kind of person who thinks or says something bad enough to have stuff thrown at you. There aren't a lot of people who deserve that kind of treatment.

[Harry pauses to think about it for a moment.]

So the person who's behind all this is a murderer?

That person who Draco mentioned, I reckon it's Voldemort. Draco has some experience with Voldemort, but so do I. I don't know how that would make much of a difference.

That's really nice of you to say! You don't seem like that kind of a person, either.

Yes, he is. Draco met him by accident. I'm pretty sure that Hisoka had already warned him about him. It's kind of a touchy subject for him, too.

How come both of you know a person that dangerous?

Usually. I tend to give as much as I get in those sorts of situations.

Is this person dealing with Draco on a regular basis? [Asking Draco or Hisoka about it would just end badly, he's sure of it.]

I don't know what Draco's told you about his side of it, but I'm the only one who can stop that person. I've been up against his forces for years, aside from the near two that I've been here.

It's important to know how to defend yourself.

No, thank goodness. He was close to him during the family week, but other than that, I haven't seen them interact. You can't be too careful, you know?

You are? I shouldn't be surprised. You and Hermione and that red-haired boy were all very talented with your wands in DA. Isn't that an awful burden to put on someone as young as you?

If you don't, some people will just keep doing it.

That's a relief. I didn't see much of him during the family week, so I'm not sure who it could be. Draco made it sound a lot worse, though.

Yeah. The three of us have been defending ourselves for a while... back home, at least. I suppose it's an awful burden, but if it wasn't me, it'd be someone else. Someone else would have to go through all those horrible things. Even if I wasn't involved somehow, I'd want to stop him. I think it's better this way.

You know, I think you're right about that.

[A guilty pause] Did he?

It takes a a lot of courage to take on a responsibility like that. I bet it must have driven you crazy when Draco wouldn't tell you what he was doing, then.

It's something to keep in mind.

He was very serious about it. [Surprisingly so.]

Er, thanks. [It's almost old hat now. Sort of. He likes being a savior sometimes. But yeah, being cut off like that is still vexing Harry on some level.] It certainly did.

[He sighs. Tsuzuki knows he should tell Harry. He doesn't know why, but it feels right.]

I think he said that to keep you safe. He must care a lot about you.

I don't want to talk about this over the journals. Is there anywhere we can meet?
