First of all, why does everyone think it is so weird that I want to take a round trip through the Midwest this summer? I've driven cross-country twice, and I agree with you: this country has a TON of spectacular scenery. One of my favorite spots is western Kansas, where all of a sudden the Rockies (and Denver) rise out of nothing - it reminded me of Oz. :) Enjoy your trip, and don't worry about what other people think you ought to do.

That sounds awesome. I am so there. I live in coastal Georgia, so here there be trees, trees, and more trees. Oh, and some marsh, too. In short, plains and mountains excite me to no end! Thank you for your encouragement!

Also, I just gotta say that I am so tickled that you read one of my regular lj posts. I honestly wrote that thinking to myself "no one will ever read this! Go nuts!" and now here you are, reading it. Hopefully I do not come off as too crazy. Now that I think about it, this comment may be pushing me over the crazy edge...

After I read the fic, I poked around. :)

If you decide you want to get acquainted with a few more people, you could take a look at my Friends page. There's a pretty wide variety of people there - a lot of them are very chatty, and level-headed. (As you know, this fandom has a pretty high level of Teh Crazy. And compared to them, no, you don't come across as crazy AT ALL.)

Thank you so much! I am trying to get a little more sociable, and I need all the help I can get.

I know what you mean about Teh Crazy. It's one of the reasons I was so happy to find the spn_gen community.
