Actually, I do like the odd bit of folk, in moderation, and usually only bits of Steeleye Span.

Not sure what alt americana is, is it country and western style? Generally I'm laid back enough to listen to anything, in a neutral way, even if I don't especially like it, but Country and Western will drive me from a room in agony, or cause me to smash to pieces whatever is causing the horror. I physically cannot tolerate it in any way, that and Bob-fucking-whiny-out-of-tune-Dylan.
