It is very scary. W've had a lot of coverage on our channels, especially the Weather Channel. Climate change is real.

Be safe.

I'm safe, well away from there (it's about two days drive north of me). I just feel so sad for everyone affected.

Are you in the flooding area? Stay safe.

No I'm not in a flooded area (a completely different state thank goodness). I've been watching the coverage all day and I'm extremely thankful that I am not facing what those poor people are. Thankfully no one I know is affected at this point but several friends have been posted to Brisbane and I am watching carefully but they all say they are safe for now.

Oh no. That's horrible! Where did all that water come from? Poor people, what an experience. You stay safe, k? Love and comfort! *hearts*

Lots and lots of tropical rain and the la nina weather pattern is where the water came from. It's crazy even where I am, which two years ago was so dry, is getting amazingly humid conditions. We are safe, we may get some localised flooding but nothing like the poor people way up north from us.

It's terrible isn't it. It's almost impossible to get your head round that these sorts of floods can happen. We seem to be going from one extreme to the other with weather in this country. There's a lot of sympathy now but I expect people will be grumbling about the price of bananas in a few weeks.

Are you getting rain in Sydney? We have had fairly constant rain for the past few days here - some of it pretty hard. It seems surreal that two years ago we were so dry and in completely different circumstances. I'm glad I don't buy bananas often!

We are getting odd spells of heavy rain but mostly evening or overnight. It's been a wet summer but nothing like what Queensland and northern NSW have been getting. Yes, the contrast is immense and apparently WA is still in drought - difficult to comprehend really.
