You know what's sneaky? Book reissuings where they change the cover so you think it's a completely different book. I read such a high volume of books that it's hard to keep everything straight aside FROM recognizing the cover and there's nothing more annoying than starting (or heaven forbid buying) a new book then realizing you've read it before ( Read more... )

Maybe after reading and loving The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray I've been in a charitable mood towards the books I read, but I'm just about finished with the third book in a row I'd consider above par from my usual fare. Normally I end up with only about one book above par every month or so, so a strong run of four has been somewhat startling.
