In Which I Associate Names

I've read the first Mortal Instruments book and thought it was okay, but I didn't realize that Cassandra Clare was THAT Cassandra Clare, the fanfic author who was involved in several high profile online kerfluffles. Now I'm glad I didn't actually buy any of her books. Seems like she's getting the Mortal Instruments series turned into movies. I hate ( Read more... )

Oh, good grief, do not want.

I think she's a crap writer. I read her Draco Trilogy and was not a fan of it, or of City of Bones.

City of Bones was okay I thought. Juvenile and predictable, but not awful. I've got really mixed feelings about it now.

I know, right??

I remember reading YEARS ago her Draco trilogy, (which at the time I'd held to be one of the best fanfictions I'd ever read), only to find out this year that the whole thing had HUGE sections plagiarized from novels, etc. It blew my mind, to think that that could happen in the world of fandom, which seemed at the time to be somehow removed from troubles and problems like that. Ah, to be young again...

And then she got published! Oy vey. I haven't read the books but I don't really want to....I'm sort of done with the YA fiction category as of now, haha.

I'm just glad I didn't buy the book. I can't be bothered to support someone who causes so much drama.

Man, I wouldn't want to either. I wonder if she ever thinks about it, you know? Like, 'lalala, my books are being turned into movies...hey, self - remember that time I plagiarized TONS OF BOOKS????'

also, your icon is well suited.

I am not going to put money into her pocket either. Do the people making the movie know she plagerized in the past?
