He Made a Saddle Out of Grover

I've decided to reread Prince Caspian. Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Horse and His Boy were always my favorites, but I figured I'd start with the one with the movie out first and compare the two, as this movie was made with a pretty liberal hand on acuracy.

Chapter 1: Peter Isn't a Douche )

Oh Hollywood and their need for stoy arcs where the characters learn something about themselves...

They had to make Peter a douche so he could once again become magnificent... whatever...

and poor Trumpkin... they got the angry elf, so they had to give him more meat to work with... and you know add 1 hour to the movie!

I think the Trumpkin difference is mainly because they got Peter Dinkledge to play the part and he ALWAYS plays angry, sarcastic characters.

Peter I think they just felt they needed conflict with Caspian and they couldn't have ALL the Pevensies being extraordinarily pleasant like they are in the books, so he's the one who got a chip on his shoulder. That and Caspian's wishy washiness is what bothered me the most really.
