Chapter-12a/?
A/N- This took me a little while to get out and I think that part b is going to take a little time as well. For anyone who still read s this story I am sorry in advance and I promise to try and make part b worth the wait.

6 months later

I can’t help but let out a sigh of relief when I spot Mark. I walk up to him and lean against the nurse’s station blowing hair out of my face as I do.

"I don’t think I have ever been happier to see you in my life than I am right now."

Mark turns to me with a smug smile on his face.

"Well thanks Cal but what can I say I am a desirable person."

I roll my eyes at him as he lets out a laugh.

"Can you be serious please?" Mark clears his throat and straightens up, letting the smirk fall of his face.

"Okay, okay what’s up?"

"Everyone keeps smiling at me." I say still trying to fathom it. "I mean all day for no apparent reason."

This time Mark rolls his eyes at me.

"That’s your problem Cal? People smiling at you?" Mark looks at me with a look an older brother would give to a little sister throwing a tantrum.

"Don’t look at me like that." I say pouting. "Lexie…." I say looking at him "Is really laying it on thick. Normally she is all smiles and cute nervousness but today it’s like she is going to faint form some sort of excitement. "

"Well you know her." Mark replies with a shrug.

"Yeah I guess, but get this. Bailey and Cristina have been smiling at me all day!" I look at Mark daring him to explain that. Again he shrugs like Cristina smiling all day is normal.

"Well that one is easy to explain."

I arch my eyebrow encouraging him to explain.

"I guess Owen must be doing a REALLY good job at…"

"Mark! Ugh I am sorry I asked." By now Mark is full out laughing and I know I will get no more out of him. Not like I got anything out of him in the first place.

"You are useless." I mutter as I walk past him.

"Says you." he calls down the hallway between chuckles. I wave my hand in the air in place for the loss of my words.

I glare at the little numbers above the elevator door as they slowly descend to the lobby. I haven’t seen Erica all day. The only contact has been a text message I received not to long ago telling me to meet her in the lobby when my shift was over. The elevator seems to be taking longer than normal. I glare at the numbers again. Only three more floors to go and I get to see her. I watch as the last three numbers slowly light up until finally the doors open. I smile big when I see Erica in front of me. She is breathtaking everyday but tonight even more so. She is wearing a red shirt that shows off just enough cleavage to make my mouth go dry. The black pants she is wearing cling to her in a way that shows off the shape of the hips and legs that I am currently imagining without any pants. Her hair is long and straight. My hand twitches at my side at I fight the need to reach out and tangle my hands in it.

"Callie?!"

"Huh?" I am startled out of my thoughts by Erica’s voice and a little nudge from her shoulder to mine.

"I asked you how was your day?" Erica smiles at me as I shake my head and try to concentrate.

"Actually it was kind of weird. I could have sworn people were smiling at me all day I don’t know it was like everyone was in on something that I wasn’t supposed to know."

"You don’t say." Erica looks at me with a look in her eye that I can’t place. She grabs my hand and leads me out to the parking lot. I willingly follow her in science for like the love sick little puppy I am. It takes me a few seconds to remember that I was explaining something. No what was I talking about…Oh yeah right.

"Yeah like earlier I could have swore I caught Miranda looking at me and smiling out of the corner of my eye. When I commented on it though she denied it. Then she proceeded to call me a fool before she walked away." By now Erica is laughing beside me.

"Well I am glad you think it’s funny." I say pouting

"Aww baby I’m sorry. Who knows maybe it’s just something in the water."

"Well somebody better call the Culligan man if that’s the case."

Erica laughs again and kisses my cheek. When we get in the car she reaches for my hand and takes it in her before driving out of the parking lot. I smile when I look at our conjoined hands. In that moment I fell like my life can’t get any better, little did I know.
