Exit, pursued by a Glaswegian ...

So, it's my birthday tonight. I have booked a room upstairs in a pub in central London but I am feeling a little apprehensive now. I'm imagining people becoming restive because of the lack of food, no-one being able to find it (it's at the end of an obscure alleyway off Holborn) and the landlord (a slightly fierce-sounding Glaswegian) chasing me ( Read more... )

Happy Birthday! I didn't know today was your bday! Tomorrow is Jeff's. :) I should have known you were a Leo - I have a disproportional number of Leo friends for some reason. Just about all my guy friends are Leos.

I'm sure your party will be lots of fun. i understand being nervous, though!

*hug*

So, you're 19, right? ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you have a fun-filled, action packed night (sans the aforementioned meat cleaver and Thames-jumping)!

BTW - can you actually understand the Glaswegian? My godfather was from Glasgo and, I kid you not, it took me 12 years to understand him...and then he moved back. But 12 years of having NO idea what he was saying! Talk about thick accents!

I had a great time last night with no meat cleavers or tears but I won't be cataloguing any brightly coloured books, getting under my desk to look at the electrics or making any difficult decisions today ! Your right, Glaswegian is an incredibly thick, difficult to understand accent but they do have a nice deadpan sense of humour. But it doesn't do to get on the wrong side of them - as PG Wodehouse wrote 'a Scotsman with a grudge and a ray of sunshine are not easily to be confused with one another'

Very glad to hear you gave the meat cleaver a miss. Happy Birthday! (A day late!)
