Summer Balloons, Summer Flowers

The end of summer. Oh bitter sweet. The days are feeling so fallish lately with cool mornings and chilly night air. There is anticipation of falling leaves and acorns. We have a few more last minute outings planned this week: The County Fair, Go Carts and Miniature Golf, a a Crafternoon with friends

Wow, looks like a seriously good time!

It was fun until they announced that the hot air balloons would not actually be able to lift off due to windy air conditions, so we had to be satisfied with looking at them on the ground. Still quite beautiful, though!

Aw well that's kind of lame. But yeah, they are really neat to look at, they're so big! And watching them fill with air from the flame is pretty fascinating.

P.S. I just read the post and re-added "mypapercrane" to my list of blogs to read regularly. um...I want to do a road trip just to attend one of these! I would totally do that.

They are extremely fun. A bunch of us gals just sitting around crafting, drinking coffee or tea, and eating home made food. But, we are not crotchety old ladies. We are laughing, gossiping, and having fun. The next one is Sept 22nd. We are making felted acorns. You are welcome anytime. Our couch is your couch :)

If I could make that happen I totally would! Felted acorns! AWWW! I haven't ever tried ACTUAL felting with that little pin but always wanted to make a little bluebird or something.

I love hot air balloons!! That's such a disappointment that they weren't able to take off. We planned a very last minute camping trip right before the first day of school! Nothing too fancy, but Wesley was very vocal about how much he loved it, haha.
