I'm so, so sorry about Shelly dying. I just today read your post about the two of them and how they had stolen your heart and it reminded me so much of Berry. And now this. I totally understand. Poor little L.

of course it broke my heart to have Shelly die, but to see how hard L took it made it SO much worse. Chris is going to make a dreamcatcher or something out of the shell so we will always remember her. :(

That's SUCH a good idea. It's so hard to watch our little ones be so devastated. Wes coped with his feelings by making those Chinese lanterns that he drew pictures of Berry and wrote messages to her on. We also had her cremated and we have a little section with her urn, the lanterns, a picture of her and her favorite toy. I think the dreamcatcher will really help L. :)

my sister just planted asparagus and blueberries. She has to wait two years...but then it's pretty easy going.

Yeah exactly! Mark said asparagus can live for like 20 years! For blueberries the way to make them get really happy is put pine needles around the base. They love acidic soil. I act like I just know this....it's all Mark. he's the amazing garden book reasearcher and knows friggin ridiculous facts about plants!

I will have to let my sister know. That makes sense though. There are tons of wild blueberries in the watershed, probably bc of the pines. Good to know.

(Mark's awesome)
