Memory crystals do all sorts of thing. The first one I got mismatched all of my socks.

Oh sure! I have a lot of fresh apples, pears and nectarines from the farm!

Nope. In my first one I could hear, feel, and smell things, and in the second one I could only hear and feel.

[She heads for the kitchenette and starts getting out stuff for a fruit salad. In... a frying pan. 'Cause it's chilly.]

Hm... Apple, can you reach the counter in that thing?

That's really strange.

[He putters after her. Frying pan? Well ok!]

Ah I can try!

[He tries to reach but the bulk of the pumpkin makes his small arms miss by less than an inch. He scowls.]

Nope. Maybe I can use a fork or something!

Phooey. Oh well!

[Gives him a very light prod in the pumpkin and starts chopping up the fruit, tossing it in the pan with butter and a little bit of sugar. Hooray for campfire cooking!]

Hey, how's the farm going?

[He giggles and watches her with a bit of awe.]

Hm, its going great! All of the fall crops are being harvested and the leaves are starting to change! We've gone through a lot of apples cause of what the Rainbow person said about finding apples, but it's funny cause he didn't really mean real apples. I asked.

I love this time of year cause the apples are really good and the baker says he'll make more apple pies and dumplings and sauce and everyone can start canning things and getting ready for winter!!

Yeah, I've noticed the leaves on the Tree are starting to turn too. It's really something.

[She smiles a little at apple sales going up, but doesn't comment on it.]

Ooh, you know... I don't think I've ever tried making an apple pie before. And getting ready for winter here will be an interesting experience, I bet.

I haven't made one by myself. I like to watch the baker though. Sometimes he lets me make the pie crust. That's really fun you take the dough and you pinch it between your fingers like this!

[He pinches his fingers at her.]

That makes the ridges of the pie.

[He ponders her last sentence.]

[She thinks about that for a second. She arrived in the winter, but not a lot of snow.]

Well... it's started raining and the like, so I'm sure we'll start getting snow when it gets colder, too.

You should! I learn a lot from the vendors and they're really nice. Well most of them.

[He thinks about this for a moment.]

It gets harder to fly in the winter. I think. The winds change and get colder. Rain makes it hard too.

[He looks sad for a moment but brightens.]

But there's different types of food like I said and it's a time for storytelling and spending time with friends!

Oh yeah, it must be tough to fly in the cold.

[She almost opens her mouth again to warn him to be careful but decides against it. He doesn't need her being a fussbudget.]

I bet the ponds in the park will freeze over too--we can go sliding around on the ice when that happens!

[Since the fruit... dish looks cooked she gets out a couple of plates and forks and tips it on there. It looks a little messy but it'll probably taste okay. Sets it on the table... um.]
