I gotta admit, first impressions of Left 4 Dead is that it is pretty darn awesome.

Have to see how the gameplay holds up, but this is the first pure-FPS since Doom 2 that I've really been excited about.

The boy certainly enjoys it. He says `It's got zombies in it!'.

It's a great game, best played with three people you know. Rather than random 13 yr olds.

It is indeed an awesome game, though it's pretty much worthless to play by yourself.

Did you get the first or the second? And I hope you got it on the Xbox...

1st one. I never buy new release games.

I don't on an Xbox. Or any console, in fact. And I never will. I got it on PC.

I played one level in single player mode and it seems quite fun. I could see it being even more fun with friends, but the AI seems pretty good, and I like taking my time to enjoy the "world".

And the game is a whole other dimension with actual players. I always found the team AI to be almost entirely worthless.

Thanks for the sympathy, but it's really not needed. I don't feel deprived at all :)

L4D is a great game. It'd be even better if the movement didn't make me throw up every time I play it. Video game motion sickness just pisses me off -- it's the reason I don't design FPSs.

On the other hand, I've gotten a lot of vomit for my dollar, so the game has that going for it.
