I played one level in single player mode and it seems quite fun. I could see it being even more fun with friends, but the AI seems pretty good, and I like taking my time to enjoy the "world".
L4D is a great game. It'd be even better if the movement didn't make me throw up every time I play it. Video game motion sickness just pisses me off -- it's the reason I don't design FPSs.
On the other hand, I've gotten a lot of vomit for my dollar, so the game has that going for it.

And the game is a whole other dimension with actual players. I always found the team AI to be almost entirely worthless.
