Oh wow! Honey I don't even know how to reply to this without it all coming out in garbled brain dead drizzle! This is stunning. The strange POV really adds a frisson to it, like the place in which all these actions and thoughts and happenings resides will eventually become a sentient being all of it's own.
We each carry our own memories, I've long believed placed can be embedded or imbued with the memories of activities carrying out in them!
Like I said, garbled drain drizzle, lol.
Thank you so much for taking that prompt and playing with it. It's beautiful!
"We each carry our own memories, I've long believed placed can be embedded or imbued with the memories of activities carrying out in them!": Me too! I'm so interested in place and memory, have thought about these things a lot!
And I am so happy you like this! Your art made me think of representations of hell on the physical plane, rescues, structures and all the violence they must see (esp. any that have tried to contain Winchesters)...also about how a lot of writers probably could have/would have come up with something a lot more naughty, heh.
I especially love this line: I don't know bodies as well--slot and tongue and arch; good bones. And the intermixing of the histories of the West with the contemporaneity of Sam and Dean, as well as the slippage between rock formation and body. <3
"And the intermixing of the histories of the West with the contemporaneity of Sam and Dean, as well as the slippage between rock formation and body": this is something I'm intensely interested in, in terms of Winchesters/frontiers and in non-SPN ways too (if those exist, heh)! Maps and formations and geographies and histories and placescapes and bounds and borders and lack thereof. I feel like this is something we share. <3
This is definitely something we share!! (And is also basically the dissertation chapter I'm currently writing, though I can't bring myself to be interested in it in that form, in that context, at present. XD)
Aw, thank you so much for appreciating my weird stuff...I feel lucky to have inspiration like milly's and kind readership like yours! Also so glad you heard Dean, because I'm not a natural at Dean-voice.
