1. Tim Gunn and the new season of Project Runway.

2. Captain Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, and his undead crew in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Was Orlando Bloom in it? I'm sorry; I must have confused him with a wooden plank.

3. Netflix bringing us season 2 of Nero Wolfe. I am reliving my pre-teen crush on Timothy Hutton, and I'm ( Read more... )

I am so bummed I missed the first episode of Project Runway's third season. I was in New York, friends took me to a Broadway musical, and I was sitting there jonesing for my Tim Gunn fix.

Is the older lady as cool as she looked in the previews?

There are two "older" ladies that I can remember now. The MBA who seems sweet but scattered, but can't sew professionally. Then there's the orange-haired Sigourney Weaver, as we called her. She's almost frightening, but really talented, and is going to be fun to watch this season.

The good thing is that it's Bravo -- it'll be on again and you can catch it.

Broadway musicals are always good, though. What did you see?

Yeah, I caught the rerun on Bravo yesterday afternoon. The "older lady" I was referring to (the architect) was actually not as old as I thought she was -- in the commercials she looked about 60, but she's actually only 42.

I really like her stuff. Very elegant. The menswear guy (who won the first challenge) and the snotty brit look like they're going to be amusingly annoying.

We saw "Sweeney Todd", which I've seen before. I hoped I'd like it better the second time around, but I am just not sold on this production.
