Fic: The Coin's Tarnished Face
Fandom: The Chronicles of Narnia
Summary: No bright place, no matter how magical, can exist without its dark.
Notes: I'm doing a bit of housecleaning/spelunking in my fic notebooks and found this. It wanted release into the greater world, so I obliged. Unbeta'ed. Concrit is, as always, appreciated.

The sound of your knuckles on culled timber calls up ancient oaths, the long memory of pacts made between Man and Wood. Trees have memories longer than stone.
Loved this part especially, it really made me sit up and take notice.

The atmosphere was what prompted the post; I went through a period when the Narnian Dark won't stop *whispering* at me, and I was hoping that releasing it to others' eyes would give me a bit of breathing room. There's a poem about the White Witch kicking around that I'd like to finish as well.
Anyhoo... yes, thank you. And thank you for letting me now what worked for you. <3
